Things to Consider before Generating Draft .pdf Documents

Getting Draft .pdf Documents to Print with Page Breaks

The WFDSS application stores any content copied to the report or decision editors as Hypertext Markup Language (HTML.) HTML is used to create web pages that you can view in a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Chrome. When a document continues beyond the screen, HTML allows you to scroll through that document on a web page. While you can print documents from a web page, HTML does not support the ability to print material using logical page breaks.

Modifying Images so They Display Correctly When the Draft .pdf is Created

When you have an image that is larger the 720 pixels wide at 96 pixels per inch, the WFDSS application uses a third-party utility that downsizes the image for viewing within the application. Unfortunately, this process can impact the display quality of the image. If possible, try to resize images using an image editing application (i.e. Microsoft Office Picture Manager) for the best display quality.

Fitting Tables within the Horizontal Width of the WFDSS Page When Creating Draft .pdfs

It is important that users utilize the table tools in the text editors to create tables. Occasionally, when users copy wide tables from MS Word (those that exceed 7.5 inches) or from a web page (one that’s been formatted using fixed columns in the web pages style sheet) into WFDSS, the copied table does not fit within the horizontal width of the WFDSS page. You should verify that any tables you paste into WFDSS from MS Word are formatted so they do not exceed the 7.5 include width.
