Occasionally, situations arise where it is both more time efficient and necessary to import landscape rules because of their complexity. Very complex landscape rules that involve factors such as elevation, aspect, and landscape masks, may take longer to create notes and input into your run than it would be to simply import them and edit as necessary once imported. Importing landscape rules also helps when working with other fire behavior analysts on incidents and in geographic areas you are unfamiliar with, by allowing you to build on other analysts' calibrations.
As a Fire Behavior Specialist, if you have Landscape Editor rules that exist in other analyses, you can import them into your current analysis.
Note: You need to re-create the landscape file after importing new rules.
Note: Landscape editor rules within each attribute category are applied from the top to the bottom of the list, so move the rules up or down the list as needed.
You can add more rules or create your landscape file. Be sure to review your landscape rules before creating the landscape file.
