You can search for specific incidents by defining filters in the Incident Tab. However, the Intelligence map provides a second alternative for locating recent incident information. If you know the general area of a recent fire, you can locate it through the Intelligence Map and follow a link to that incident's information and decision content.

The Intelligence Map view also enables you to see other fire activity near your incident.

To access an incident from the Intelligence map:

  1. Choose the Intelligence tab. The Intelligence map appears.
  2. Use the pan Hand Icon and zoom tools to view the area you are interested in (not all incidents show up at the coarsest scales and you may need to zoom in to see them).
  3. Look for Incident Markers (colored diamond symbols) that represent incident status and incident size
  4. Click a colored diamond incident marker to open the pop-up window that displays the Incident Name, Fire ID, and other basic information on the fire.
  5. If this is the fire you are looking for, click the name of the incident (underlined and in blue text) to view the incident details in WFDSS.
  6. If it is not the incident you are seeking, close the pop-up by clicking the red 'x' in the upper right corner of the pop-up window. Then, continue searching.
