Associating Shapes with Incident Objectives and Requirements

Incident Owners and Editors can associate Incident Obj. Shapes to one or more incident objectives and requirements. This is a many-to-many relationship; the same shape can be used for multiple incident objectives or requirements, and multiple incident objectives and requirements can be associated with a single shape.

To associate shapes with incident objectives and requirements:

  1. From the Incident List, select the incident that you want to create incident obj. shapes for.
  2. Click Assess Situation. The Situation Map for the incident appears.
  3. On the map, click the Point, Line, or Polygon tool.
  4. Place your cursor where you want the shape to appear on the map.
  5. Draw a shape. When you are finished, the shape should appear yellow with a Temp name.
  6. From the left pane, choose the Map tab. The Map Layer Tree appears.
  7. Click the Green circle + next to Incident Obj. Shapes. The Layer expands to display the Name field.
  8. Type the name for the shape.
  9. Click Save. The Associate Incident Objectives/Requirements with Shape page appears.
  10. Mark the checkboxes for all the objectives and requirements that you want to associate the shape to.
  11. Click Save Shape Associations. A message appears at the top of the page indicating that your associations were saved.

You can edit the associations until a decision is published that includes the selected objectives and requirements. Incident obj. shapes appear pink on the map.
