Decision Content: Course of Action
The Course of Action (COA) portion of the decision displays the Strategy for the incident (on a slider scale from monitor to full suppression) and one or more Action Items designed to achieve the objectives. The Course of Action and Management Action Points (M.A.P.s) auto-populate in the decision, and a graphic of the slider bar will populate as well if you choose to use it. Consider the following before publishing a decision:
- Review the auto-populated content for Strategy, Action Items, and M.A.P.s.
- Ensure that content is appropriately included/exclude. If more work is needed, got to the Course of Action page or the Management Action Points page (see Developing Action Items, or Editing a Management Action Point).
- Ensure that Action items listed in the Courses of Action can achieve the objectives.
- Add content as necessary to clarify the Strategy, Course of Action or M.A.P.s.
- Add map images, analysis outputs or pictures to help clarify the situation.
- Add information pertaining to contingency plans.
- A COA (at least one Action Item) is required for a decision.
