Training Philosophy

For several reasons, WFDSS is a different kind of tool, and you will be using it differently than a typical software application.

  1. As you can see from looking at the different user roles, using WFDSS requires a variety of skills.
  2. You will likely use the system very intensely during fire season and then not as much in the off-season.
  3. You might not even have a need to use WFDSS for several fire seasons.

For these reasons, and the fact that traditional in-person training is very expensive, such classroom style training is not planned for WFDSS.

Instead, we will be using a combination of e-learning and coaching to assist users in getting the most out of WFDSS. Examples include, but are not limited to, the following:

Training Schedule

Training webinars are being currently held to cover user roles and modeling techniques. The live webinars will require attendees to register; however, we are also working on podcasts of the webinars, which you can download freely (see Webinars).
