Setting Incident Default Preferences
You can customize the Incident List, Display Preferences, the Incident Situation Map, Display Preferences, and the Incident List filters to display incidents, maps, and filters the way you want to see them. You can:
- Sort incidents according to characteristic or order
- Modify the number of incidents per page you want to view.
- Set defaults for map base layer for the Situation Map and the Decision Map.
- Set defaults for Perimeters, Planning Areas, and Management Action Points to initially display on the maps.
- Change your default permanent filter.
- Create additional permanent filters.
GA Editors, National Editors and users assigned the role of Feedback can also transfer filters to users.
To set incident default preferences:
- From the Incidents List page, click Set Incident Default Preferences. The Incident Default Display Preferences page appears. From here you can set Incident List Display preferences, Incident Situation Map preferences, and change the default filter.
To set incident list display preferences:
- Click the Sort By drop-down list to select how you want to sort incidents. Discovery Date is the default.
- Click Ascending or Descending to set the Sort Order. Descending is the default.
- Enter the number of Incidents per Page you want to view.
- Click Save Preferences.

To set incident situation map display preferences:
- Use the radio buttons to select the Map Base Layer, Decision Map Image Base Layer, Fire Perimeter, Planning Area, and Management Action Point preferences.
- Select the appropriate available layers and either double-click or use the arrow button to move them to the Selected Layer are Initially Displayed box.
- Click Save Map Preferences.

To change the default filter:
- Click the filter you want to use, then click Set as Default. A blue check mark appears next to the filter you selected.
- To create additional filters, scroll down, then click Create New Filter. The Define Incident Filter page appears. (See Defining Permanent Incident Filters.)
- To go back to the Incident List page, click Return. The Incident List page reappears, sorted by the last filter selected on that page.
