Transferring Incident Ownership to a Group
Before transferring incident ownership to a WFDSS user group, verify that the group members:
- Are available and not on leave or already assigned to other duties.
- Have the authority to make fire management decisions for the incident's size and complexity.
- Include at least one group member assigned the role of Author within WFDSS. Only group members with Author privileges can own incidents. Members of a group that do not have author privileges can assist with document editing, review, and approval.
Members of the ownership group are responsible for ensuring that decisions related to the incident get documented, reviewed, and approved. (See Assigning a Decision Team to an Incident.)
To transfer incident ownership to a group:
- From the Incident List, select the incident you want to transfer ownership.
- Click View Information. The Edit Incident Information page appears.
- Click Transfer Ownership. The Transfer Ownership page appears.
- Select My Address Book from the Address Book drop-down list. Your personal WFDSS address book appears.
- From the User List, select the radio button next to the group you want to assume ownership of the incident.
- Click Transfer Ownership. The Edit Incident Information page reappears and displays the name of the new group owner.
