Managing Notification Lists
Administrators and Geographic Area Editors manage notification lists from the Administration tab. Geographic Editors have access only to the Geographic Area Summary and the Fire Behavior Requests. Administrators and GA Editors can review user profiles to determine those profiles not accessed in a specified number of days. The user has the option of exporting the Notification Lists to an Excel spreadsheet.
There are notification lists for:
- FLAME Act Report
- User Profiles
- Other
- Weather Related
- Service Broker Failure
- User Feedback
- Decision/FLAME Act Failures
- Geographic Area Summary
- Oversight Summary
- Fire Behavior Requests
When you subscribe to these notifications, you have two choices; to subscribe by WFDSS User ID or by an email address.
- If you choose User ID, then the notifications are sent via text to the cell phone (if you've generated an alternate email address) and the email address listed in your WFDSS Contact Information
- If you'd like to receive the notifications via an email address other than what is listed in your Contact Information, you may enter it here.
The option you choose impacts the way you receive notifications about things you've subscribed to, such as fire behavior requests. If you subscribe with your User ID, the you receive personal email notifications about these types of requests. If you subscribe with an email address other than what's listed in your contact information, you will receive a group email notification addressed to all users signed up with that option. If the "right" people do not seem to be included in these group emails, there are other ways to subscribe.
To add a user to a Notification List Type:
- From the tab, select from the left menu. The Notification Types list appears.
- Click the radio button to the left of the appropriate Notification Type.
- Click Open. Displays the appropriate Notification List.
- Click Add. A new row displays at the top of the list.
- Click the radio button to the left of the empty User ID, User Name, and Email Address row.
- In order to send notifications to the email address and phone number stored in the contact information, enter the User name and user ID. In order to receive notifications to an alternate email address, enter the User name, and alternate Email address. Do not enter both a user Id and an Email address into the same Notification line. In order to receive notifications to both the email identified in the Contact information, and an alternate email address, two notification entries must be created.
- Click Save to add the user to the Notification List, or click Cancel to not save the user information.
- Click Return to go back to the Notification Type page.

To edit user information in a Notification List Type:
- From the tab, select from the left menu. The Notification Types list appears.
- Click the radio button to the left of the appropriate Notification List.
- Click Open. Displays the appropriate Notification List.
- Click the radio button to the left of the user row you want to edit.
- Click Edit.
- Modify the information as needed.
- Click Save to save the modified user information to the Notification List, or click Cancel to not save the user information.
- Click Return to go back to the Notification Type page.

To delete a user from a Notification List Type:
- From the tab, select from the left menu. The Notification Types list appears.
- Click the radio button to the left of the appropriate Notification Type.
- Click Open. Displays the appropriate Notification List.
- Click the radio button to the left of the user you want to delete.
- Click Delete. The user information is removed from the page. You can delete one user at a time.
- Click Save to save the newly added user information to the Notification List, or click Cancel to undo the deletion.
- Click Return to go back to the Notification Type page.
