Fire Behavior Specialists can create a landscape file to use in Basic Fire Behavior (BFB) and Short-Term Fire Behavior (STFB), Near-Term Fire Behavior (NTFB), and FSPro fire behavior models. The following rules apply:
Before you can create a Landscape File, a variety of tasks need to be completed (in no particular order).
CAUTION: After creating a Landscape File that contains landscape edits, view the landscape to ensure that the edits you made in the Landscape Editor appear as you expected. A landscape critique will help with this task. Landscape editor rules are applied using Boolean logic and, if edits to your landscape do not appear as they should, read Landscape Editor Tips and make appropriate rule edits.
When these tasks are completed, create a Landscape File by clicking Create LCP File on the Landscape tab. Drawing a landscape extent and defining landscape parameters are required tasks, whereas applying landscape editor rules is optional.
