Situation Assessment

Once an incident is logged, you can assess the situation to determine if further work toward a Decision is needed. WFDSS provides several map and analysis tools to assist you in quickly assessing the situation:

• Incident-specific information logged by the dispatcher or the incident author/owner
• Data layers that include infrastructure, assets at risk, topographic, and other information about the landscape
• Basic and Short-term Fire Behavior Analysis (see Analysis for Authors and Editors)
• Weather forecasts, fire danger, and other climatological data
• Strategic objectives, management requirements, and federal jurisdictions for the landscape (if previously provided; see Data Management)
