Deactivating an FMU or SO Code

Deactivating an FMU Code also deactivates any strategic objectives and management requirements associated with it. The information is no longer available to the decision process.

A Data Manger can deactivate a FMU code because FMUs are not required to have spatial data associated with them. The Strategic Objective (SO) Codes can not be deactivated since they are used in the spatial planning process. The SO codes can be modified by submitting a new SO data layer through your agency GIS representative.

To deactivate an FMU or SO code:

  1. Choose Data Management > FMU/SO Codes. The FMU/SO Codes page appears.
  2. Select the Geographic Area, Agency, and Unit that you want to edit FMU codes for.
  3. Scroll down to the FMU Code list for the selected unit.
  4. Select the FMU Code that you want to deactivate.
  5. Click Deactivate. A message appears reminding you that deactivating an FMU Code also deactivates its associated strategic objectives and management requirements.
  6. Click OK. The FMU Code is removed from the list.

You can no longer edit the description or delete the FMU Code.

Note: You cannot deactivate a SO Code.
