Viewing KMZ Files

Any WFDSS user can view the KMZ file for a published decision or approved analysis. Only Incident Owners and Editors can view a KMZ for pending decisions, and only Incident Owners, Editors, and those with analysis privileges can view the KMZ for analyses in progress.

To view the KMZ file:

1. Navigate to the KMZ file you want to view.
   • If the file is on your hard drive or network, use the folder structure to navigate to the file.
   • In WFDSS, choose one of the following paths: Incident list> select incident > View Information > Download KMZ; or Incident list> select incident > View Information > Decisions > select pending decision > Peding KMZ; or Analysis list> select analysis > View Information > Download KMZ.
2. Open the KMZ.
   • If the file is located on your hard drive or network, double-click the file to open it in Google Earth.
   • From within WFDSS, click Download KMZ or Pending KMZ > Open. The KMZ displays in Google Earth.
3. Select the KMZ file name from under the My Places section of the Places pane. Google Earth zooms to the selected information.
4. Select a hyperlink from under the KMZ name to view information specific to the selected name.

After you finish viewing the pending decision KMZ file, select another KMZ to view, or return to the WFDSS application.
